Project description

We propose a new look. A break with the paradigm of separation that extirpates the essential bonds of trust that human communities rise from. We act with and from our hearts and minds to shape a paradigm based and built on trust. A way to cultivate, distribute and consume food that honours the Earth, the human beings and Life itself. We stand for community, resilience, and Earth/soil, co-creating actions with the sum of ancestry, human consciousness and biological technologies. We want to cultivate a future that belongs to each and every one of us.
The Instituto Anjos do Sertão (IAS), in a formal description, is a non-profit organisation located in the city of Canto do Buriti, in the south of Piauí state, northeastern region of Brazil. We were born from the desire to uncover the natural, social, and cultural richness of the Caatinga, a wise and fascinating biome. We want to show the world how to make a real impact investment model that can preserve this unique universe. 

Beyond formalities, we are human beings in search of practices that integrate new approaches to connect and live on the planet, in order to cultivate, distribute, and consume food that honours the Earth, people, and life. It is through entrepreneurship and innovation that we engage in regenerative territorial development, giving voice to local communities through collective actions and encouraging the exchange of knowledge. Thereby, we create a space that enables the restoration of the Caatinga, with solutions emerging from collective thinking, always co-constructed with the collaboration of everyone from the territory.

Main activities will include
(but not limited to)

Beekeeping (sting and stingless bees), agroforestry, organic garden, tree nursery and community work.

In all those activities, you will be an assistant for our coordinator of the area, helping with everything that is needed at that time of the year.

All those areas described have work to be done throughout all the year! Feel free to choose what you like the most!

Specific information/requisites

Truth in your heart to connect with nature and rediscover yourself.

Availability to work on the field.

Some knowledge of organic practices, agroforestry, permaculture and/or biodynamics is nice to have.

Lastly, we ask for a little food contribution of $10 to $15 US per day so we can host everybody in our best efforts! We are not yet full self-sustainable, so we still have to buy food on the local market for our teams to be always well nourished.
